Fr Brendan Retires

Fr Brendan presentation

On Sunday August 22, Fr Brendan celebrated his last Sunday masses as Parish Priest. The good news, however, is that he will continue to live in the parish and to be involved in ministry, but not as parish priest. We thank him for his tireless work over the past seven years since he came to the parish and we look forward to his continued work among us as he moves into the next phase of his ministry.

Photo shows Fr. Brendan receiving a small token of appreciation and acknowledgement of his 50 years as a priest from Martina Kealy of the PPC on behalf of the parish.

  • Week of Witness

Week of witness2021From November 22nd to November 26th, ACN Ireland invites parishes across the country to join them in a Week of Witness for suffering and persecuted Christians. This special week involves important talks and exhibitions throughout the island of Ireland on the theme of Christian persecution. During the ‘Week of Witness’, ACN Ireland will hold the Red Wednesday Prayer Vigil with the prayerful assistance of dioceses and parishes throughout the country. Red Wednesday is an opportunity for the faithful to gather as a community of worshippers to publicly affirm their thanks to God, their spiritual union with persecuted Christians - and to pray for those who persecuted the Church and Her faithful.

  • Advent Calendar 2021

Advent Calendar 2021The first day of Advent heralds the beginning of the Catholic Church’s new year.  Advent (from ‘ad-venire’ in Latin or “to come to”) is the Church season encompassing the four Sundays and weekdays leading up to the celebration of Christmas.  Advent is a time of spiritual preparation for the Lord’s coming at Christmas.  Advent also prepares us for the second coming of Christ at the end of time.
